About Robbie Sherwell
Having years of experience within the surfing industry and a local Sunshine Coast professional surfer, Robbie toured with the World Pro surfing team which gave him the opportunity to experience some of the world’s best surf and earn the respect of his peers.
Robbie has been surfing for 31 years. He competed on the World Pro Circuit for 8 years and was rated number 5 in the world for 1 month.
He was selected for the State of Origin Qld surfing team twice and won in 1994, captained the surfing team to visit Tahiti 1996 and was the undefeated Parbendal open surfing champion 1998 to 2000. Robbie was also was sports ambassador for the Sunshine Coast 1994 and currently provides the surf reports for local newspapers and radio stations.
Robbie’s knowledge and understanding of the sport is second to none, so after his profession career, Robbie began his own Surf Academy.
He became an instructor in all levels of surfing, although Robbie’s main focus is the elite level of surfing, training potential champions with the strategies and skills needed in competition.
Robbie’s experience has given him both the confidence and ability to work with the public and the media.
It enables him to provide students with professional coaching guidance whilst they pursue their goals.
